Hertz releases its first electric drumkit- Aedan-1

I am writing this article on the August of 2024 while the release happened a few months ago around Feb/March, but there’s not much coverage of it online so I thought I’d do it. I was inside my local music store last week testing out the Roland TD-07DMK when the staff told me they have another kit priced at 39,000 rupees. At first, I thought it was the Alesis Nitro Max but no it was the Hertz Aedan-1.

It looks similar to the Alesis Nitro Mesh but a lot sturdier it seems- the pads and stand is thicker and more robust. But I didn’t like that they had raised edges on the snare and toms since it makes it difficult to play when you’re jamming to fast songs. I can’t comment on it’s drum sounds or latency as the storekeeper wouldn’t let me test it. But I’ve checked some videos of it online and it sounds pretty good- similar to the Nitro Mesh if not better.

But for now it seems it’s only released in India and is available in various online and offline music stores across the country. I love that this is happening in India. This will make it easier for hobbyists and serious drummers to get their own kit as the imported ones such as Lemon and Roland are too expensive.

Kadence is another company that has also recently released new electric drums. Hope this trend continues and that we will see even better high end kits from these companies.
