There are many different types of e-drum brands in India but there are two main ones I would generally recommend to most people. If you are on a tight and small budget or if you want great value for money then you should go with Alesis electric drums. They have edrums of all price ranges and they are durable. There’s the Alesis Nitro Max starting at 39,000 and at the top of the line you have the Strata Prime at 3,25,000. So Alesis has you covered no matter your budget and playing expertise.
I had one of their cheapest kits-the Alesis Nitro Mesh and it worked well for me for almost three years. I wrote a full review of it here and also made a video. I also have an Alesis Strike Pro module that I have been using for almost a year and I am in love with it’s sounds. Their pricing is really fair I feel in comparison to other brands.
But if you want the best quality e-drums then go with Roland. In my opinion it (and Efnote- more on that later) has the best sounding kits out there. I have tested out the TD 07 DMK at a store and another model of my friend’s they are miles above my Alesis kits.
Of course it is also double the price at 78,000 rupees. But there’s no denying the premium feel and sound of Roland. And they are easily available on stores like Amazon, Flipkart and Poo Musicals. Another reason I recommend these two brands is because they are popular in the country. And since different brands are not always compatible with each other it’ll be easier for you to replace a broken part or expand your kit.

Worthy mentions-
EfNote – This brand has some of the best looking and sounding kits out there but their prices start from over 2 lakhs onwards. So they are not for everyone. But if you want an acoustic looking e-drum kit then Efnote 3 is the best value for money you can get.
There are cheaper ones from Lemon and Aurzart but their module sounds are sub-par. They are good enough for practice but if want to record or even play live you would have to buy a separate module. And those are not easy to get and there’s no gaurantee of compatibility.
YAMAHA– Yamaha has many kits for amateur beginners or for serious professionals. But they are pricier than Alesis and they are not easily available online. As for their presence in offline stores it will depend on region and state. The only ones available locally in my area were Alesis, Roland and Hertz.
