Alesis has released Crimson 3 (III) – Full details

Alesis themselves have not made any announcements, but the Crimson 3 is now available in various US online stores. One reddit user also reported seeing the kit in-store on his visit to Guitar Center. In terms of looks and sizes of the pads and cymbals, it is the same as the Crimson 2.

It is a 5-piece pad set with two 8″ dual-zone toms, one 10″ dual-zone floor tom, a 12″ dual-zone snare and an 8″ kick. The 4-piece cymbal set includes a 12″ hi-hat, two 12″ crashes with choke and 14″ triple-zone ride – which is usually seen in more expensive e-kits.

But the module has been upgraded and it has many more settings and controls including a volume mixer. It also has bluetooth and you can load samples and play-along tracks via the SD card. The Crimson 3 has 80 kits and 470 sounds while the Crimson 2 has 74 kits (54 factory + 20 user) and 671 sounds.

It is priced at a $999, which is 200$ more than the Crimson 2 Special Edition and you can get it from Guitar Center. As of the time of this writing (3rd November 2024), am only seeing it in US stores, so if you live outside the States then it might take some time before you can actually get one.
